The shooting of a 3D film about the Expo-2010 exhibition in China will begin at the Russian pavilion on Wednesday night.

Only the most interesting national pavilions will be featured in the film, Vladimir Strashko, the Commissioner General of the Russian Federation at Expo-2010, said adding that the Russian pavilion has drawn increased attention from visitors and media.

About 40,000 people visit the Russian pavilion daily, a source in the administration said.

Russia constructed a pavilion at the exhibition for the first time in 30 years. The sun-shaped building comprises 12 white-and-gold towers symbolizing the 12 months of the year, and occupies an area of 6,000 square meters.

The episodes of the 3D film dedicated to the Russian pavilion will highlight its idea to Chinese partners and represent possible profitable niches to invest in.

The first footage of the film on Wednesday evening will include an interview with Straskho.

“Twenty Russian regions will hold expositions and presentations at our pavilion, the heads of the regions will speak up about most interesting and prospective business projects for partners and investors,” Strashko said, adding that it is a good chance to set up direct ties between Chinese and Russian businessmen.

The 2010 World Expo is being held in Shanghai from May 1 to October 31, 2010. Up to 70 million people are expected to visit the city for the event, which has seen investment of up to $4 billion. Over 200 states, corporations and international organization take part in the Expo.
